Twitter Explodes Over Photo of ‘Bond Villains’ Steven Mnuchin and Louise Linton Holding Sheet of Money

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was photographed holding a newly printed sheet of money with his wife, Louise Linton, sending Twitter into a frenzy over the uber wealthy couple dressed as “Bond villains.”

Mnuchin and Linton visited the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing to check out the first set of bills bearing his signature.

They then posed for photographs holding a sheet of $1 bills.

The photos come after a number of controversies involving the couple. Earlier this year, Mnuchin came under fire for using taxpayer-funded private flights, including one in which he reportedly watched the solar eclipse earlier this year from Fort Knox.

Linton has stirred controversy herself when she posted a photo of her leaving a government plane wearing a number of expensive clothing items and accessories, which she tagged in the Instagram post.

An Instagram user commented, “Glad we could pay for your little getaway #deplorable.”

Linton lashed out at the woman, mocking her for not having as much money.

“Aw!!! Did you think this was a personal trip?! Adorable!” Linton wrote. “Do you think the US govt paid for our honeymoon or personal travel?! Lololol. Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country?”

“I’m pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day ‘trip’ than you did. Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours,” she added.

With that in mind, Twitter users could not contain themselves with the new photo shoot.
