Trump Rehashes Email Scandal in Embarrassing Attempt to Distract the Media… Get’s COMPLETELY Shut Down on Twitter

It’s only Tuesday, but it’s already been an absolutely disastrous week for the White House. Republicans are about to force a vote on the healthcare bill, which will undoubtedly fail due to last week’s revelation that Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) both announced that they would be voting no, meaning that Republicans don’t have the requisite 50 votes to pass the bill despite their majority in the Senate. Add that to the fact that Trump’s speech at a recent Boy Scouts convention has created a tremendous amount of backlash and the recent subpoenas issued to Paul Manafort, and things are looking particularly grim for Republicans in Washington at the moment.

Instead of facing these problems head on and drafting a passable healthcare bill, encouraging Manafort to comply with the Congressional investigation, or apologizing for his speech, Donald Trump has decided to do what Republicans do best these days: deflect blame and bring up irrelevant fake news. In a series of Tweets early Tuesday morning, Trump decided to rehash what was a ridiculous charade when it happened over a year ago: the Hillary Clinton email scandal manufactured by Republicans during the election.

During the 2016 election, Republicans wasted millions of taxpayer dollars and weeks of airtime on a series of Congressional investigations into the Benghazi tragedy and a private email server she used during her tenure as Secretary of State. Despite the fact that both of these inquiries lead nowhere, they allowed Republicans in Congress to attack Clinton on the national stage during the election.

Now, it’s being used by Trump to take negative attention off of his White House and attack his political enemies. In a series of Tweets, Trump complained that the real issue at hand wasn’t his obvious collusion with Russians or the complete and total inefficacy of the Republican party, but rather the fact that the government wasn’t STILL investigating Hillary Clinton. See the Tweet below:

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign – &quot;quietly working to boost Clinton.&quot; So where is the investigation A.G. <a href=”https://twitter.com/seanhannity”>@seanhannity</a></p>&mdash; Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href=”https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/889788202172780544″>July 25, 2017</a></blockquote>

What’s even scarier is the source of this information. Apparently, Trump got this story directly from his favorite media outlet: Fox News. As media professional Matthew Gertz pointed out on Twitter, these Tweets line up perfectly with an airing of Hannity’s show on Fox News, where Hannity also discussed Clinton’s email scandal. You can see Gertz lay out the facts in his series of Tweets:

<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” data-lang=”en”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>Where Trump's twitter freak-out this morning probably came from. In related news, we're all going to die. <a href=”https://t.co/AzynSeCyeH”>pic.twitter.com/AzynSeCyeH</a></p>&mdash; Matthew Gertz (@MattGertz) <a href=”https://twitter.com/MattGertz/status/889836118358851584″>July 25, 2017</a></blockquote>
<script async src=”//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

Yikes. apparently the President of the United States is getting his news and his policy advice from a talk show host that is incredibly biased, and has been wrong many times in the past. If you agree that Trump needs to stop trying to distract Americans with fake stories from washed up pundits like Hannity, please like and share this message in order to make it clear exactly how inept this administration has become, and to reveal their distracting lie for what it is.
