‘Alert The Day Care Staff’: GOP Sen. Bob Corker Just Tore Apart ‘Utterly Untruthful’ Trump in Brutal Slapdown

Tennessee Republican Sen. Bob Corker did not mince words in his unfiltered rebuke of President Donald Trump and everything he represents Tuesday.

Corker responded to Trump’s rage tweets by ripping his constant lies and embarrassments.

Corker, who backed Trump on the campaign, told CNN he “would not do that again,” “no way.”

Corker said Trump has a “great difficulty with the truth.” He has “proven himself unable to rise to the occasion,” Corker said, adding that Trump is “debasing” the country.

“I think many of us, me included, have tried to, you know, intervene, and I have had a private dinner and have been with him on multiple occasions to try and create some kind of aspirational approach, if you will, to the way that he conducts himself,” Corker said. “I don’t think that that’s possible. He’s obviously not going to rise to the occasion as president.”

Asked if Trump was a role model for children, Corker responded, “No, absolutely not.”

“I think the things that are happening right now that are harmful to our nation, whether it’s the breaking down of — we are going to be doing hearings on some of the things that he purposely is breaking down — relationships we have around the world that have been useful to our nation,” he said. “But I think at the end of the day, when his term is over, I think the debasing of our nation, the constant non-truth telling, just the name-calling … I think the debasement of our nation will be what he’ll be remembered most for, and that’s regretful.”

Corker also responded to Trump attacks on Twitter, writing, “Same untruths from an utterly untruthful president. #AlertTheDaycareStaff.”

“It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center,” Corker responded to Trump’s attacks earlier this month. “Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”

Trump spent all morning raging at Corker, who he accused of trying to torpedo his tax cuts. Corker had actually just called for Trump to get out of the process so the adults in the party can figure out how to try to craft a plan that doesn’t blow a massive hole in the deficit.

Trump also attacked Corker over the Iran Deal, which Corker opposed publicly and voted against. He also claimed that Corker, who is retiring at the end of this term, could not win an election for “dog catcher,” even though he won his last race by 35 points, a wider margin than Trump had over Hillary Clinton in the state.

“Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts,” Trump falsely claimed. “Corker dropped out of the race in Tennesse when I refused to endorse him, and now is only negative on anything Trump. Look at his record!”

“Isn’t it sad that lightweight Senator Bob Corker, who couldn’t get re-elected in the Great State of Tennessee, will now fight Tax Cuts plus!” he continued.

“Sen. Corker is the incompetent head of the Foreign Relations Committee, & look how poorly the U.S. has done,” he added. “He doesn’t have a clue as the entire World WAS laughing and taking advantage of us. People like liddle’ Bob Corker have set the U.S. way back. Now we move forward!”
